Today Chevrolet announced the Centennial Edition Corvette in this video tour of the package.
The Centennial package will be available on all models of Corvette - from the base coupe and convertible through the Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1 models. As the video points out, the car will be well-dressed in formal black with sporty red highlights - including red stitching in the interior, and wheel/brake accents. Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles lays out the thinking in the video - they're honoring Louis Chevrolet and 100 years of Chevrolet in racing.
Louis Chevrolet was a larger-than-life figure in the early days of the automobile. He was a big, bold man who drove racing cars back when that sport was far more dangerous than it is today. His story is fascinating - so now I know what my next article in the Corvette History section's going to be.
