In the first two months of 2011, Corvette sales are up more than 10% from the same two months in 2010, according to a report on Automotive News.
Auto News' commentator Rick Kranz rightly points out that compared to 2006, at the height of the economic boom, Corvette sales are still about 1/3 of their former glory. But at this point any good news is welcome news, and I'll keep an eye on sales as the year progresses and report them to you.
Personally, my gut tells me that Corvette buyers are going to come out from under their blankets this year - the economic recession has gone on so long that it's not a shock any more. I have to believe that people whose personal economic situation is stable will be more willing to step up and get that new Corvette. Plus, with sales still near all-time lows, there's never been a better time to negotiate a deal on a new 'Vette.
