Mecum Auctions has announced that they will auction more than 150 noteworthy Corvettes during their upcoming 5-day auction event in Kissimmee, Florida. The auction will take place from January 26-30.
Corvettes crossing the block include a variety of classic period cars. For example, there will be a 1953 Corvette Roadster, a rare 1968 L88 560-horsepower convertible and a 1969 L89 427/435 coupe. Many of the cars will be auctioned without a reserve price, which is to say that they will be sold no matter what the bid amount.
The Corvettes are just a small fraction of the 1,750 cars that will cross the block at Kissimmee, which has expanded to five days and become the industry's largest January classic car auction. Taking place just a week after the big Arizona auctions, it's hard to say whether buyers will be tapped out or amped up for a big show.
Mecum's Kissimmee Auction takes place at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida with tickets available at the door for $15. The auction will broadcast with four days of live national TV coverage on "Mecum Auto Auction: Muscle Cars & More" on Discovery Communications' HD Theater. Fans can also watch the auction via live Webcast.
